re-new 2012
Cybernetics revisited
We want to take the early cybernetics’ vision of an imaginative model of open-ended experimentation further into the interactive media art field, for artistic considerations, discussions and novel experimentation. Media artists, visual artists, performers, musicians, composers and others working in digital media in its many forms are urged to submit proposals for the event, which takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark
November 19-24 2012
in connection with IMAC 2012. We are looking for groundbreaking works in combinations of digitally enhanced music, video and installations in collaborative, distributed and site-specific art. Emphasis is on non-traditional genres, and submissions are accepted in all categories imaginable: we want works that challenge and expand current vocabulary and practice of digital creation, presentation, performance and consumption.
Submissions must be made by March 1 2012 through re-new 2012s EasyChair portal, and can be everything within interactive media arts – performative, sound, interactive installations etc. – but with a strong emphasis on a participatory aspect using different novel forms of physical interfaces.
Proposals must include:
- conceptual statement
- short bio
- technical description
By May 1 2012 re-new 2012 will open up a dialogue with the selected submitters for final programming decision. re-new 2012has several venues for a variety of performance and presentation possibilities. We will seek to present the selected works at the best possible venue, but submitters are welcome to indicate preferred venue(s) in the submission form.
